From Converts to Churches

For some time now, the Reach the Nations team in Punjab have been visiting numerous villages, sharing the Gospel, teaching the Bible, and helping with some basic life needs. Through this outreach program, many have come to know and follow Jesus and, in some areas, there are enough families involved to begin to organize and establish churches.

The two locations Adnan, Irfan, and Mehboob are focused on presently are DhamoKay and Daska, both in the province of Punjab.

Pastor Adnan (shown above) is leading the ministry in DhamoKay in a church building to which he has been given free access. There are a number of families in the area who gather regularly for worship and teaching. This church is quite well established already and continues to grow under Adnan's leadership.

Peter Negron, an RTN team member from the U. S., visited Daska last month and we reported on this small, but growing, congregation meeting outdoors or, in difficult weather, crowding into a house (for more detail, see our February 24 post). Please pray with us that they will find a suitable building for their church services.

Meboob and Irfan lead this church and also continue to visit surrounding villages as time allows. The first step toward organizing a church has been training a Sunday School teacher, who now teaches the 20 or so children who attend each week.

The RTN Pakistan team is presently studying 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus in their weekly online Bible study together with several members of the U.S.-based RTN team. That study is fostering a biblical understanding of church organization and purpose.

Pray with us that Adnan, Mehboob, and Irfan will be encouraged in their ministry as they seek to establish churches that will grow and flourish in both Daska and DhamoKay.

"So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." - Ephesians 4:11-13
