Off to Pakistan!
Please pray for Gary Finkbeiner, Warren Van Kampen, and Mike Hayden who will be ministering in Pakistan for the next two weeks:
GARY, with more than 25 years' experience in pastoring and in training Christian leaders, is the Founder of Reach the Nations Ministries and President of the Thornapple Center for Biblical Studies. He will teach at a pastors’ conference in Islamabad and at a Bible College in Karachi and will meet with individual pastors and church leaders for mentoring and counsel.
WARREN is a retired ophthalmologist and has been working closely over the past several months with Sahiwal Christian Hospital (SCH) in the eastern part of Pakistan to create an eye clinic and surgical center within the hospital. He will spend several days at the hospital to work with SCH staff, including a Pakistani ophthalmologist who has been recruited to oversee and operate the clinic. Their goal will be to have the center equipped and functional by the end of November.
MIKE is Senior pastor of New Covenant Church and founder and director of Living Hope International. He has served for 28 years in full time ministry. As a leader in Covenant Leadership Training Institute, Mike will be interviewing potential students for the intensive six-month training program, now offered in Livingstone (Zambia), St. Louis, and Guatemala City. CLTI is offering three full-ride scholarships to qualifying Pakistanis who are called to Christian ministry.
All three of these travelers will visit RTN team members in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Karachi and, in that process, will be brought up to date on all aspects of ministry there including business training through Partners Worldwide, outreach into the Hindu villages, leadership training, and assisting those who are living in poverty and need survival support.
A huge thank you to those of you who sent donations for Acts of Mercy. More than $1,200 has been received and will be used to help meet needs as they are encountered along the way. Having cash to respond with immediacy will bring great blessing to the lives of many who struggle day-by-day in Pakistan.
Here are a few specific things to pray for these men as they travel:
Safety and good health
Completion of the ophthalmology surgical center and clinic in Sahiwal
Clear and inspired teaching for the purpose of raising up new leaders in the Pakistani church.
Discernment as they meet with team members in Pakistan so they will be able to make wise decisions for moving forward in various areas of ministry.
Thank you for your support and, particularly during the next two weeks, for your prayers.
