Water for Life

"For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to srings of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." - Revelation 7:17

Christians in the Khairpur region of Pakistan have a problem: They need water. It's not that there is no water available there, but Christians are not allowed access to it. According to the Reach the Nations team who recently visited there, Christians are being blocked from the public source of fresh water because of their faith. Christianity is a minority religion in Pakistan where followers of Christ are often persecuted in ways similar to this.

Shakeel and Rustam have been working among the people of Khairpur for some time now and God is blessing their outreach and teaching. They report there are now about 100 families who attend Sunday worship services in this region. Because of the number of Christians there and their great need for fresh water, Reach the Nations chose to provide the water pump. The installation was overseen by Manzoor Mansih, our representative from Islamabad. The men of the church provided labor to put the pump in place and Christian families in Khairpur are now enjoying the benefits of the availability of water, a basic necessity so many of us take for granted.

Gary Finkbeiner reports Reach The Nations is looking into providing and installing these pumps in ten additional outreach areas to insure that Christian families have access to fresh drinking water as well as water to clean dishes and wash clothes. Each water pump will cost $70.00 US and installation will be provided by local Pakistanis. If you would like to participate in this clean water ministry, click on our Donate page.
