Basic Education; Eternal Focus

The literacy classes at both sites in Islamabad are going strong.

This young girl has left school for reasons that were not given. Zarish and her students have welcomed her into the basic literacy class while Pastor Babar works to get her re-enrolled in school. She is learning, along with her adult classmates, the value of reading and writing and, most of all the value of learning to read the Bible.

In the photo above, Zarish (gold scarf, writing) is doing some group work with students in the basic class. It's hard work learning to read as an adult, but these students are motivated by the opportunity to change the trajectory of their lives.

And on the other side of the city in an area identified as G-8, teacher Sikendar is shown with his new students just beginning their journey to read, write, and do basic mathematics.

In addition to the new students in the basics class, Sikendar is teaching his graduates how to read the Bible. Together they have read and understood several books of the New Testament and presently are reading and studying the Gospel of Luke together.

Pray for all our hard-working students and their amazing teachers!

"Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name." - Proverbs 3:3-4
