A few weeks ago, we told you about the Lifeline Christian Development Services team from Sukkur that now uses our church building in Khairpur for monthly medical clinics. This month, visitors from Lifeline's central office in Germany visited the clinic.
Shakeel was invited to go the following day to Sukkur to share Reach the Nations' vision for ministry in Pakistan. He spoke at a Brothership Program which wàs organized by Lifeline, a Christian non-governmental organization.
Shakeel shared about RTN's work in Hydereabad, Punjab, and Islamabad, and about the work of Covenant Leadership Training Institute (CLTI) in Karachi. Shakeel is a graduate of CLTI and feels that the program has prepared him well for ministry.
Shakeel's presentation was well-received and he describes the meeting as a "blessed time sharing God's work with brothers." He is happy about the partnership developing between RTN and Lifeline as God's Word is preached and as much-needed health servi...
Shakeel was preaching to people from the village of Kumb a week or so ago about the sower and the seed. A man came after the meeting to give Shakeel a gift of $1.00 (US) as an expression of thanksgiving for the teaching he had just heard. Shakeel says, "I know this is very small amount on earth, but is big in the eyes of Lord because it was given willingly and happily. My heart was crying when I prayed about the money because the Word which was delivered has done the work."
Nothing touches a pastor's heart like knowing that God is working in what he preaches. God's Word has the power to change hearts and encourage generosity and loving sacrifice. One dollar - not a lot to you and me, but probably equal to the widow's coins Jesus observed when He said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others." - Mark 12:43b
Things were difficult in the outreach areas in Khairpur because people are busy with the cotton harve...
A few weeks ago, Mehboob (on the left) ad Adnon (on the right) expressed a need for families to whom they were ministering: They wanted Bibles so they could read for themselves about the things they were being taught. Mehboob identified families where at least one person could read and asked for Bibles in Urdu for those families.
Here you see some of the recipients of the first Bibles purchased for their use. Mehboob and Adnon are challenging those who are literate to read their Bibles to their own families and to others in their neighborhoods who may be interested.
For those of you who have given to this project, thank you! You have given a great gift - the gift of God's Word, a pathway to knowing Him better. There are more Bibles (for both children and adults) to be purchased, so if you want to join in the joy of sharing God's truth, simply go to the Support button at the top of the Home page on this website and you will see how you can contribute. Be sure to designate your gift for Bi...
We are excited to report that Covenant Leadership Training Institute (CLTI), a partner in training Christian leaders around the world, is establishing a campus in Karachi, Pakistan and construction has begun!
Gary Finkbeiner, President of Reach the Nations (RTN), has taught courses for CLTI through the years and hs been instrumental in working with Mike Hayden of CLTI to engage more effectively in training young Pakistani Christians, preparing them for leadership as God calls them.
Shakeel Rhemat, one of the young pastors who works with RTN, completed the CLTI training in Zambia more than two years ago now. Future Pakistani students will no longer have to wait for passports and visas and endure long separations from their families as they will be able to study in their own country. And the cost of sending a student through the intense six-month program will be much less as we will not have to cover transportation costs to Zambia.
The CLTI coursework includes theology, Bible survey, and le...
In addition to the evangelism and church planting ministry Shakeel has with Reach the Nations, he and his wife, Beneesh, are involved in a children's ministry in their home church in Hyderabad. Shakeel teaches the children and Beneesh works with them in a music ministry program. This video shows the results of her leadership.
We thought you might like to know that we have received enough money so far to purchase 20 Urdu Bibles for Christians in villages around Sialkot in the province of Punjab.
Mehboob said he will send pictures when the Bibles are given one-by-one to the families eagerly waiting to receive them. We will post the pictures as they come.
If you can help, please go to the Support tab on our website (rtnministries.com) and donate through PayPal at that portal. If you prefer to donate by check, please make it out to Reach the Nations amd mail it to 10340 East Rivershore Drive SE, Alto, MI 49302. Remember, it's only $6.00 for an adult BIble and $3.50 for a children's Bible.
Thank you for helping to get God's Word into the hands of those eager to read it!
A message from Mehboob, working for God in the villages of Punjab (in his words with slight editing for clarity to English language readers):
"Greetings in Jesus name to RTN Family -
We are fine here by the grace of God. The ministry activities are running very well, and the people of all the areas are very happy to be able to listen to the word of God and we are seeing their spiritual growth in Jesus.
We visit more than seven areas on a regular basis throughout the week, but it's tough for us to take pictures in several areas because many people do not feel good about this, so we can take pictures in some areas where it is possible for us and the people do not feel uncomfortable about it.
But now when we give Bibles to the people, we will take a few more pictures of the people who will receive the Bibles because you know we have promised many people this week that we will give them Holy Bibles.
We announced to our people in the outreach areas about your November...
